About Us
IIS MATERIALS (IISM) is the first manufacturing company among university-launched venture companies in Japan. Founders of the company were the professors of the institute of industrial science (IIS), University of Tokyo.
The object of establishing is to practice the application of silicon refining technology by EB melting. The technology was developed by Dr. Maeda who is a professor of University of Tokyo.
The company keeps close cooperation with IIS until now, and operate a joint research with a large-scale electron beam melting furnace in the Chiba experiment station of IIS.
Some major companies worked to develop refining silicon but Boron and Phosphorus removal was bottle neck and have not solved.
Only IISM could have broken through and realized this problem on business level in the world.
